KIOSK 70: Reverie

Kiosk is a semi-annual publication put together by a team of upper and and under-classmen at the University of Kansas. Our mission is to showcase and celebrate the ARCD and Visual Art program student art in a well-designed, printed magazine that allows students to get their work published at no cost to them. Funded fully by donors, KIOSK for decades has been an essential part to helping uplift students in their efforts at KU.

Lily Hughey, Lauren Waldo, and myself created the theme Reverie. Originally inspired by the basic principles of Gestalt, but then later molded into the shared perspectives all creatives share.

From childhood, we creatives learn to fit shapes, arrange colors, and form letters, building the foundation for visual literacy and storytelling. Kiosk’s 70th issue honors this act of perception and those who transform awareness into art, design, and writing.

& a huge thank you to our whole team Ryan, Elise, Danny and Reese for helping make this dream a reality.
